MEET CHANTAL

I graduated from University with BA (Hons) Psychology — but instead of pursuing this degree, I remained intrigued by the Computer Science courses I had taken which had introduced me to the world of website design… and since then there has been no going back. Since 2000, I have been actively involved in the design and development of websites. As a freelance designer, I worked subcontract jobs for multiple companies, built my portfolio designing for others and gained valuable experience. In 2003, I began “ink.” – a small design company based on a passion to create modern, beautiful and professional website designs.

I am a designer, a mother, a wife. As a young child, talent and creativity spilled from my family… from my mother selling TV advertising (back when that was a big thing), and I have fond memories of my dad sketching on lined graph paper when he wasn’t custom building our house – on his days off. I grew up in a small town in Northwestern Ontario wearing fashion-forward clothes my mum sewed herself from Simplicity patterns, and my dad drew me pictures to colour in, rather than just use a regular kids colouring book. I married a financial advisor whose first passion is art and graffiti. The fences in my yard are splattered with colour as he paints a new “birthday piece” for our girls each year. I am also an Airbnb Superhost. In my past life, I think I was a children’s party planner, a cake maker and an interior designer. Creativity, design and entrepreneurship have always been a part of my life.
